Thanks to all the volunteers during renovation week. Their efforts have ensured that our course was back in operation in a couple of days. The picture shows work being completed on the 18th green
HELP FOR HEROES
Holsworthy golf club held a very successful Team Open Event, not a drop of rain, in aid of Help for Heroes, raising almost £6000.
200 competitors teed off from 7.40.am. until 4.00.pm. There was a Pro Challenge on the 4th par 3, Dan Wood raised over £600, he was out there for over 8 hours, bless him. Competitors could "Buy a Drive" on the 6th from a single figure handicap golfer, great fun to watch. Trevor and Sue Watters slaved away over a hot BBQ all day feeding 200 hungry players. Holsworthy Army Cadets sent a detachment to oversee the car parking and other duties, and they did a grand job. Julie Ellis organised a putting competition which was run all day by the Junior Section, and Barbara Abrams checked all the competitors in. This was followed by an auction in the evening followed by a disco.
