13 - Leddys Ain Hole

Par - 4
Medal Yards
290 yards
Stroke Index - 16/17
Ladies Yards
273 yards

In years gone by, the 13th was viewed as a real chance to get a birdie on the card, but with the introduction of a carefully placed bunker to the front of the green, this hole is no longer a pushover. With trouble lurking on both sides of the fairway, a sensible shot with a 3 or 5 wood to the fairway will leave a short second. If you're long enough to go for the green off the tee - beware. The risk far outweighs the rewards.

14 - Lens Leap Hole

Par - 3
Medal Yards
161 yards
Stroke Index - 18/16
Ladies Yards
151 yards

A large sloping green awaits a well struck tee shot. A small lake in front of the tee awaits a poor one ! The green slopes towards the tee, so make sure that you've got enough club to get up to the flag.

15 - Roon The Bend Hole

Par - 4
Medal Yards
370 yards
Stroke Index - 8/9
Ladies Yards
311 yards

As the name suggests, a dog leg par 4 that always seems to play longer than the yardage suggests. A drive edging the left side of the fairway will leave a fairly straightforward second to a narrow green. Miss the fairway, and trouble awaits.

16 - Locks Folly Hole

Par - 3
Medal Yards
156 yards
Stroke Index - 14/13
Ladies Yards
141 yards

A small green that slopes from back to front is protected by the out-of-bounds to the left and trees to the rear. Miss the green and you'll be hard pressed to make your par. Try to leave yourself short of the flag as a lethal downhill putt awaits anything long.

17 - Choak

Par - 4/5
Medal Yards
385 yards
Stroke Index - 4/11
Ladies Yards
366 yards

If you've got a good score going, you don't need to be reminded of the name of this hole when you stand on the tee. Many a golfer has been brought to his knees at the hands of the 17th. A big dog leg to the left gives you the option of playing safe and making the hole a 3 shotter, or cutting the corner to have a go at the green, which is protected by the stream.

Hole 18 - The Gillards

Par - 5
Medal Yards
546 yards
Stroke Index - 10/6
Ladies Yards
501 yards

Out-of-bounds and a ditch run down the left hand side from tee to green on this long testing finishing hole. Play safe down the right hand side from the tee, from where a well positioned second shot will leave an approach shot to the long green, which needs some thought. Long and you're out of bounds in the clubhouse - to the right awaits sand. If you come up short and leave a long testing putt, you'll be hard pressed to secure your par.
